Today we had the honor of welcoming home Veterans who participated in the Holmes Wayne Electric Co-Op Veteran's Honor trip. These men and women went to Washington D.C. to share, remember, and reflect on their time in service by visiting many monuments and historical sites as they relate to their service to our great nation. Many of these Veterans did not receive a proper welcome home... Today we helped ensure their return was honored as we recognize them coming back home. We thank you for your sacrifice! Welcome home! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Where were you on this date 25 years ago? A question that is important to every American who lived through that moment. Take time today to reflect on those who lost their lives and those who made the ultimate sacrifice. ~Never Forget~

One important aspect to success in the fire service is training. Today we discussed a few important topics to maintain an "always ready" standard. Topic 1: The basics. With a shortage of manpower, how will we achieve success when we step foot off the rig? Knowing and understanding each role an assignment is key. Topic 2: Victim Rescue. Each scene can present new challenges from a layout of a structure to how the victim may present. Topic 3: Firefighter rescue and air emergencies. Firefighters are presented with dangerous situations that may cause an emergency. Knowing how to mitigate these risks or how to solve problems as they arise is important. Topic 4: The final topic. Firefighter fitness is the most important. The number one risk firefighters face is not in a burning home or other hazard, it comes from within: our heart. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is not only important to complete the job, but remain fit for the next call. ~Do not rise to the occasion, fall to the highest level of training~
