❤️🌎 Six Months Apart. Three Days to Help. One Grandbaby Waiting.

Some notarizations stay with you forever. This is one of mine.

An American couple traveled to the Philippines for what should have been one of the happiest moments of their lives—the birth of their first grandchild.

Instead, an unexpected legal situation resulted in the grandmother being incarcerated overseas.

Six months passed.

Her husband, a U.S. attorney, eventually found me while searching for a way to get critical medical documentation properly authenticated for the court.

We met over Zoom, reviewed what was needed, and I coordinated a remote online notarization session with her physician.

I was able to complete the appropriate notarial acts, including copy certification and notarization of the physician's signature, and facilitate electronic apostillisation.

Within three days, the completed documents were "back in her husband's hands" for submission to the judge in the Philippines.

And the ending?

❤️ She was released and finally got to meet her grandbaby.

I think about this experience whenever someone asks why I'm so passionate about remote online notarization and e-Apostilles.

It's not just about technology. It's about what becomes possible when we understand the laws, know the procedures, and use the tools available to us.

Sometimes the documents we handle are part of something much bigger than a transaction.
