It’s Child Passenger Safety Week!

To all the new and expecting moms and dads—congratulations! You’re beginning an exciting journey, and the Sidney-Shelby County Health Department is here to support you along the way.

One of the most important steps you can take to protect your little one is making sure their car seat is installed and used correctly every trip, every time.

Our Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians are available to check your car seat, answer your questions, and help make sure your child is riding safely.

🔹 Keep your baby rear-facing as long as possible, according to the height and weight limits of their car seat. Infants and toddlers have larger heads and more delicate necks and spines, making them especially vulnerable in a crash. A rear-facing car seat provides important support and protection for your child’s head, neck, and spine.

Not sure if your car seat is installed correctly? We’re happy to help!
