‼️‼️
Good afternoon,

After multiple meetings and hearing input from the citizens of Siloam Springs, on October 20th the City of Siloam Springs Board of Directors voted to turn off the Flock Safety cameras until a final decision can be made regarding the contract. At 4:59 AM on October 21st, Police Department staff began working with Flock Safety to disable the cameras. Later that same day, the cameras were placed in a decommissioned state. The decision was made to cover the cameras with black bags to further ensure that no additional public photos or video could be uploaded. The final camera was covered today with the gracious assistance of the City of Siloam Springs Electric Department.

As always, the Siloam Springs Police Department will continue to thoroughly investigate crimes using the wide range of tools, training, and investigative techniques already in place. Your officers regularly rely on witness statements, physical evidence, patrol strategies, and strong partnerships with surrounding agencies. These proven methods will continue to support our efforts to identify suspects and reduce crime.

The Siloam Springs Police Department remains committed to serving our community with professionalism and dedication. Further updates will be provided once a final decision is made regarding the Flock Safety contract.

Thank you,
Interim Chief Chase Fine

Today, Thursday, October 22nd, 2026, the Siloam Springs Police Department received a call of a person with a weapon in a neighborhood near Southside Elementary. Siloam Springs School District Administrative Staff decided to place Southside Elementary on a "Secure" status, which means no one is allowed in or out of the building until the status is lifted.

Once SSPD officers arrived scene and determined there was no threat, the "Secure" status was lifted. At no time were any students or staff in danger. Corporal Herrington (Southside Elementary SRO) was on campus the entire time and communicated with and supported school staff throughout the incident.

Throughout the month of June, Harps Food Stores - Siloam Springs, AR collected monetary donations to support the Siloam Springs Police Department and Siloam Springs Fire Department. These generous contributions help provide essential equipment and resources while recognizing the men and women who work every day to keep our community safe.

Thanks to the generosity of Harps Food Stores and the citizens of Siloam Springs, the police department was able to purchase 13 Burrito IFAKs (Individual First Aid Kits).

So, what exactly is a Burrito IFAK?

A Burrito IFAK is a compact, low-profile medical pouch designed to carry essential trauma supplies while taking up minimal space on an officer's duty belt or tactical vest. The pouch rolls tightly for easy storage and can be quickly deployed with one hand, allowing officers immediate access to potentially life-saving medical equipment when seconds matter.

We are incredibly grateful to Harps Food Stores and the Siloam Springs community for their continued support and investment in the safety of our first responders and our community. ❤
