This past week, Lieutenant Childers completed the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy series, which is comprised of three core classes, Supervisory Leadership Institute (SLI), Command Leadership Institute (CLI) and Executive Leadership Institute (ELI). Each class equips law enforcement leaders with:
-Tactical decision-making skills
-Proven leadership frameworks
-Tools for building trust and accountability
-A national network of police professionals

Attendees who complete the 3 core classes are awarded the Trilogy award and it consists of a coin, lapel pin, and a uniform pin.

LEEDA stands for Law Enforcement Executive Development Association, whose goal is to advance the science and art of law enforcement leadership and promote the exchange of information to improve law enforcement management practices through training, education, and networking among police professionals across the United States and beyond.

Congrats to Lieutenant Childers on completing these courses!

Starting today you will notice most of our officers wearing pink patches as we recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This will be the 6th year that our agency has participated in the Pink Patch Project. In the 6 years we have been participating, we have collected and donated to a variety of local cancer organizations and families totaling almost $6,000! This accomplishment would not be possible without the support of our staff, residents, and other supporters.

Remember, 100% of money collected is donated.

If you would like to donate, please stop by the police department or Village Hall (2961 Kent Road) or email Sergeant Rowe at [email protected]. For every $10 donation, you will receive a pink patch. Sergeant Rowe can also mail a patch at no additional cost if you live out of the area and would like one.

Please join us in congratulating Sergeant Craig Rowe as he celebrates 10 years of service with the Silver Lake Police Department this weekend!

Sergeant Rowe began his law enforcement career in 2011, serving with several other departments before joining the Silver Lake Police Department as a part-time officer in 2016. In 2019, he was promoted to full-time officer, and in 2025, he earned promotion to the rank of Sergeant, where he currently supervises the evening shift.

In addition to his supervisory duties, Sergeant Rowe proudly serves as the department's Honor Guard representative, representing the Silver Lake Police Department at ceremonial events and honoring the traditions and professionalism of the law enforcement profession.

Thank you, Sergeant Rowe, for your dedication, leadership, and commitment to the Silver Lake Police Department and the residents of the Village of Silver Lake. Congratulations on this milestone, and thank you for your continued service!
