Town of Simla Simla is a prime example of High Plains living at its finest. Visit us at townofsimla.com The town was founded in 1909 and incorporated in 1912.

Simla, Colorado, is located in Elbert County, approximately 45 miles Northeast of the City of Colorado Springs, along Highway 24. Simla still maintains a small town rural feel, with urban amenities located within a reasonable drive time. Simla was established in the late 1890’s, as a stop along the Rock Island Rail line. Simla grew and thrived as an agricultural community for the better part of a century. As times changed so did the economical driving factors of the community. In the 1970’s local, small business, and commercial industry/manufacturing thrived in town. Simla remains a quaint, quiet and friendly community which is proud of its past and hopeful for its future! The shadows are gathering, the screams are calling, and the Simla Haunted House needs brave souls to help bring the nightmares to life!

We're looking for volunteers to join our team of creatures, ghosts, monsters, and things that go bump in the night.

☠️ Volunteer Requirements:
🦇 Must be at least 16 years old
🦇 Available October 23, 24, 30, and 31
🦇 Possibly available November 1
🦇 Ready to help make this the scariest Haunted House Simla has ever seen!

Whether you want to lurk in the darkness, jump out from the shadows, or help create a terrifying atmosphere, we need YOU!

📢 Notice of Vacancy – Town of Simla Board of Trustees

The Town of Simla is seeking interested residents to fill a vacancy on the Board of Trustees.

This is a great opportunity to serve your community, help shape local policies, and contribute to decisions that impact the future of Simla.

✅ Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be a registered elector of the Town of Simla
• Must have resided within the Town of Simla for at least 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the appointment
• Must maintain residency in the Town throughout the term of office

📋 Term of Appointment: The individual appointed by the Board of Trustees will serve until the regular municipal election in April 2028.

📝 How to Apply: Applications are available at Town Hall and on the Town's website. Completed applications should be submitted to Town Hall by Tuesday, November 3,2026 @ 4:30 pm.

🦟 Mosquito Spraying Notice

The Town of Simla is planning to spray for mosquitoes on the evening of September 4th. If conditions are not favorable, spraying will take place during the early morning hours of September 5th instead.
