We started Fire Prevention Month off strong with a smoke alarm blitz. Simpsonville firefighters along with support from members of the American Red Cross, the South Carolina State Fire Marshals Office, and The Home Depot. We knocked on 115 doors and installed 109 smoke alarms! While those numbers seem impressive, we only made contact with about half of the neighborhood. But, dont worry, we left door hangers with a phone number to call to get them installed. We are thankful for the generous donation of 120 smoke alarms from Simpsonville Home Depot. Thank you to those that came and spent their morning helping us make our community safer. Fire Safe SC

Congratulations Lieutenant Holt on receiving your Certified Trauma Responder certification. This certification is achieved by over 100 hours of education, training sessions and life experience in the mental health community. Lt. Holt has also become affiliated with the South Carolina First Responder Assistance and Support Team (SCFAST). This allows him to respond as a peer to other first responders after a traumatic event.
