I was honored to be invited to the Horizons Breakfast at Ethel Walker school bright and early this morning. Truly an inspirational way to start the day. Hearing from not only the girls and young women who have been a part of this program but from families and educators as well about the impact the Horizons Program has had on their growth and future goals was very meaningful.

Thank you Mary Lou for thinking of me and sharing the morning with me.

Horizons at The Ethel Walker School is an award-winning academic and enrichment program serving students who experience inequities in their education from the Hartford community.

The Aging in Place Expo was another hit!

Planned by the Aging and Disability Commission, The Senior Center and the Simsbury Library, this event presented invaluable information on services and providers for Seniors such as AARP, NCAAA, home health care agencies and home design companies to retrofit homes for accessibility.

It was well attended with great feedback.

Yesterday morning during the Public Safety meeting, Mark Massaro from Eversource presented SVAA with a donation to fund this valuable equipment. So grateful to our community partners who help advance the safety of everyone in Simsbury.

A huge thank you to Eversource for their generous donation to Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance Association! 🚑💙

Their support will allow us to purchase Slipp® Patient Movers, specialized devices designed to make moving and repositioning patients safer, smoother, and more comfortable.

The Slipp® uses a unique sealed fluid surface that allows patients to glide with significantly less friction. This is especially helpful when moving patients who have limited mobility or require additional assistance, while also reducing the physical strain and risk of injury for our EMTs and paramedics.

Equipment like this helps us provide safer, more compassionate care while protecting the crews who serve our community every day.

Thank you, Eversource, for investing in the safety of our patients, our providers, and the Simsbury community! Eversource CT

A little rain couldn't damper the good time at this year's Burgers on the Bridge.

The annual fundraiser for the Friends of the Flower Bridge is always tons of fun with great food, spectacular views, and a wonderful opportunity to mingle with our community members.

Thank you to the Friends and to Fitzgerald’s foods and all of the volunteers for making this happen

Another wonderful Senior Police Picnic this afternoon at the Simsbury Farms Ice Rink. Food catered by Fitzgerald's was delicious and great music by the DJ made for some fun dancing. Well attendees and everyone had a great time.

Thank you Simsbury PD for this fantastic annual event.

Another hugely successful Taste of Simsbury at The Riverview with Simsbury Main Street Partnership!

So much delicious food and beverages brought by the amazing restaurants, bakeries and coffee spots in Simsbury and our neighboring towns.

This is one of my favorite events of the year! I love seeing so many friends and community members having a great time together. This year was even better because my daughter Sarah was in town from NYC and joined the fun.

Had so many favorites it was hard to pick just one.

Simsbury has the best events!

Happy First Day of School Simsbury!

Wishing you all a wonderful year.

Remember that busses are now on the roads in the morning and afternoon. Prepare for extra time now that bus stops are picking up students. And please keep safe distance from the back of the bus and heed the rules of the bus stop - all vehicles must stop in both directions and no passing a bus in either direction when the stop sign is out.

Be safe and have welcome Class of 2027!

What a fantastic place and wonderful owners who live in town. And a great use of the space. I can't wait to sign up for a class and get in the aerial spandex. Great for all ages and all skill levels.
