See the attached post from the Conrad Weiser Area School District Internship Program. Yesterday, students were able to visit the Ethos West project on Krick Lane. CW Students had a great opportunity to see the project and activities on site, meet the development and construction team and learn about some great career paths in various trades. Ethos and its team will be hosting a series of these opportunities with the Conrad Weiser School District to provide students with the ability to engage with different types of careers and jobs that are involved with this type of project. The students will be meeting with members of the South Heidelberg Township team at a future date to learn about the municipal processes and careers that are part of projects like the Ethos West Project. Thank you to the team at Doyle Construction, CH&N and Ethos for setting up these opportunities for the CW Students.

Trick or Treat Night is Saturday October 31, 2026 from 6PM to 9PM and the South Heidelberg Parks & Recreation Team is Partnering with the South Heidelberg Township PD for Trunk or Treat at Heidelberg Run West Park.

Come Join us on Halloween Night for some fun games including an inflatable corn maze, pumpkin toss and other games, treat bags, hot c***r and hot chocolate and free hot dogs! Members of the SHPD will be there decorating their PD Vehicles along with members of our Public Works team with THE BIG TRUCK for kids to check out!!!

Please see the Reading Eagle article with more information relating to the Berks County VA Community Clinic that will be coming to the former Fecera's Furniture site in South Heidelberg Township. A great facility that will support Veterans and another great project by Motus Development. Some further information from the article below as well.

Services at the new clinic will include primary care, mental and behavioral health care, women’s health care, laboratory services, social work services, X-ray, audiology, optometry, physical therapy, pharmacy counseling, nutrition services, whole health care and telehealth services.

Jay Ostrich, director of the Berks County Department of Veterans Affairs, said the announcement of a bigger facility and expanded services for local veterans is exciting.

“The existing clinic has been a tremendous platform for healing in our community for quite some time but our demand has been outstripping that facility so this expansion is certainly appropriate and something that we welcome,” he said.

In his experience, Ostrich said, he has found that the most vulnerable veterans in Berks have dramatically better outcomes when the distance and cost for care is reduced.

Local veterans will soon have a new place in Berks County to receive medical care.

As you may know, the former Fecera's Shopping Center is undergoing some exciting re-development news as its new owners Motus Development have announced this new project to redevelop the former Fecera's Furniture into a new Berks County Veterans Affairs Community Clinic. The Veterans Affairs Community Clinic will join Wyomissing Fitness (WYOFIT) in occupying the former Fecera's space. Check out this press release from Motus Development.

During the fall season many homeowners will be working on outdoor tasks. The maintenance of sidewalks and roadways to including cutting back trees and shrubs is a task property owners should add to their fall "to do" list.

Please check out the attached graphic showing the requirements of 8 Feet of minimum sidewalk clearance and 14 Feet of minimum roadway clearance. These clearances help provide safe and passable sidewalks and roadways. Thank you.
