🫧 Bubble Up as They Grow Up! 🫧

This week's Wish List Wednesday is all about body wash!

When a child visits The Closet for the first time, they receive an age-appropriate Welcome Bag filled with essentials, including their very own full-size bottle of body wash.

It may seem small, but having something that's just theirs can bring a little comfort and familiarity during a time of transition. It's also one less item their caregiver needs to worry about purchasing.

We're currently running low on body wash for babies, kids, and teens, and we'd love your help restocking!

🩵 Please donate new, full-size items. You can drop off items or ship them directly to The Foster Network at 620 S. Cliff Ave., Suite 200, Sioux Falls, SD 57104.

For Jacob Cambern, volunteering at The Closet comes with a special perk: spending time with his grandma! 🩵

Jacob is a senior at Harrisburg High School who recently joined The Foster Network as a volunteer for his Senior Capstone Experience. He spends two hours each week helping stock clothing and baby equipment alongside Connie, who has been a dedicated volunteer with us for over two years.

South Dakota Gives

A big thank you to REBEL SOULZ MC for hosting a poker run this past Saturday benefiting The Foster Network! 🩵

The event raised $1,225 to support the children and families we serve!

We appreciate the generosity of everyone who participated and the Rebel Soulz MC crew for putting this event together. What a wonderful way to give back!

We are so grateful to Helmsley Charitable Trust for their generous $15,000 donation to The Foster Network! 🩵

Their support goes beyond this incredible gift. Members of Helmsley's Sioux Falls team also spent time volunteering at The Closet today, helping sort clothing donations and Halloween costumes for the children and families we serve.

❄️ Wish List Wednesday: Winter Gear! ❄️

Every child deserves to enjoy recess, play in the snow, and spend time outside with their friends. Unfortunately, some children miss out on outdoor recess when they don't have the proper winter gear.

We want to help make sure as many kids as possible are bundled up and ready for winter!

This week's wish list includes:
• Snow Boots
• Snow Pants
• Winter Coats
• Hats
• Gloves

Our greatest needs are snow pants and snow boots in children's sizes 2T–14/16 (or equivalent shoe sizes). While we receive coats, hats, and gloves more frequently, snow pants and boots are consistently in short supply.

💡 Before you shop, check your closets! Did your kids outgrow their winter gear since last season? Those snow pants or boots that fit perfectly last winter might be just what another child needs this year!

We're looking for new or like-new items with enough life left for another winter. New purchases are always appreciated, too!

Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor the Indigenous peoples who have called this land home for generations and recognize the vibrant cultures, traditions, and communities that continue to thrive today.

Here in South Dakota, we are reminded of the deep history and lasting contributions of the Indigenous nations whose stories, voices, and traditions remain an essential part of our state.

🩵 In observance of the holiday, The Foster Network will be closed today, Monday, October 12. We will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13, at 10:30 a.m.

From January through September, The Foster Network has:

• Welcomed 2,658 visits to The Closet
• Provided 494 New Placement Welcome Bags
• Distributed 47,341 essential items

Each number represents the ongoing need for resources and support in our community.
