SFSD Discovery Elementary To educate and prepare each student to succeed in a changing world.

It is the vision of the Sioux Falls School District to provide the opportunities and challenges for each student to succeed as a lifelong learner in a changing world. The District values a highly trained and committed workforce, continually evaluating and improving their own and student performance. The District recognizes its role as a key contributor to the social, civic and economic foundation of this community. To achieve this vision, we must ignite the hearts and minds of our students, staff, families, the business community and citizens.

Discovery’s Student Council members are learning what it means to be leaders and make a difference in their school! They share ideas, encourage school spirit, and find ways to make our school an even better place for everyone. We are proud of them for stepping up, using their voices, and being positive role models for their fellow students!

🌤️ 🎈🌎 Up, up, and away! Classroom K01 created one-of-a-kind hot air balloons inspired by the book “The World Needs Who You Were Made to Be” by Joanna Gaines. Their colorful creations will be displayed in the hallway outside their classroom, serving as a reminder that - just like their unique hot air balloons - each of them is special, one of a kind, and has something wonderful to share with the world!
