Siouxland Libraries expects this to be a popular event. Therefore, everyone must enter for a chance to attend. Ticket holders will be selected via a randomly generated lottery. Filling out the form does not guarantee a spot at the event. Entries will be accepted through October 4, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. The drawing will take place on October 5, 2026. People who have secured a spot will be registered and notified by email on October 5, 2026. Please call 605-367-8700 with any questions.

Every day leading up to the Festival of Books, we’re proud to highlight the authors joining us this year. 📚️✨

Up next, we have Paul Horsted, who has been photographing South Dakota for more than 40 years, since picking up a camera at Brandon Valley High School and carrying it to South Dakota State University. His photography has appeared in publications such as LIFE, Reader's Digest, USA Today, National Geographic, Smithsonian and South Dakota Magazine. In books like Exploring with Custer: The 1874 Black Hills Expedition, just released in a revised fourth edition, Horsted seeks out historic photo sites to create precisely matched modern images.
