🩷💙 October is also Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month 🩷💙

Did you know the owners of Visiting Angels Sioux Falls and Rapid City are also the founders of the Oaklyn Foundation , a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created after the loss of their own daughter, Oaklyn? 🕊️

Out of unimaginable loss came a mission to serve other families walking a similar road. The Oaklyn Foundation gives back to families following the loss of a child, helping remind them that they are not alone and that their child's life—no matter how brief—matters.

For our Visiting Angels family, this month is deeply personal. Not only do we remember Oaklyn, but we remember every baby and child gone too soon. And we honor the parents, siblings, grandparents, and loved ones who carry them in their hearts every single day. 🤍

Their lives may have been brief, but their impact is forever. Let us know if you are honoring and remembering a child in heaven a little extra this month by naming them in the comment section. We will be praying over all of you who hold this month a little closer in your heart as well.

Some days, you just need a 200lb emotional support animal at work 🫶

Our office manager, Savannah, asked if her dog Grizz could join us a few days in office! Just in case you didn't already know, WE LOVE DOGS, so this was an easy YES!

Grizz spent most of his days in office with the owner, Jessica! (if he goes missing, he may or may not be at Jessica's home 😆)

Do yourself a favor and spend some time with a dog today! They truly are man's best friend and will instantly brighten your mood!

Today, we pause to remember a day that forever changed our nation.

We honor the innocent lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, the heroes who sacrificed so much, and the families who carry the weight of that day even 25 years later. ❤️🤍💙

September 11th reminds us of the incredible courage, compassion, sacrifice, and unity that can rise from even our darkest moments.

At Visiting Angels, we are especially grateful for those who dedicate their lives to serving others—our veterans, first responders, caregivers, and everyday heroes who continually put others before themselves.

May we never forget the lives lost.
