What a finish for our Rebels!
Lucos Wernimont and Sage Weber represented Sioux Central with pride at today’s Class 1A State Cross Country Championships in Fort Dodge!
Lucos raced to 3rd place in the boys’ race with a time of 16:15.9!
Sage earned an impressive 31st place finish in the girls’ race, crossing the line in 20:25.0!
Their performances capped a season with plenty to celebrate—from personal records and season-best times to Lucos’s second consecutive conference title and a runner-up conference finish for our boys’ team.
To every Rebel runner: the miles, determination, and support you gave your teammates made this season one to be proud of. Thank you to our coaches, families, and fans for cheering them on every step of the way!
Congratulations, Lucos and Sage, and congratulations to our entire cross country team on a fantastic season. Way to run, Rebels!

Trick-or-Treating with Ozobots! Our students had a blast in the library creating their own haunted houses using a glyph! Once their houses were built, they worked together to draw trick-or-treat paths for their Ozobots to travel from house to house. There was lots of creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and plenty of excitement as they tested their paths and watched their little robots go trick-or-treating! Who knew coding could be this spooky and fun?!

Our 8th Grade class had the opportunity to present their Hero Speeches to their classmates, family, and friends last week. Learning how to address envelopes, write and edit speeches, then learn the art of public speaking all in a few weeks, these students did a fantastic job honoring their role models.
