Keowee Springs Fire District Keowee Springs Fire Department was established in 2008 and began full operations in June of 2009.

We are a combination department with four full-time and nine part-time employees, as well as fourteen volunteers. Full-time personnel include: Chief Sam Simmons, Captain Mark Lee, Captain Jason Melton, and Firefighter Clint Belcher. Our shifts are based on personnel working 24 hours on duty and 48 hours off duty. In July of 2016 we started utilizing part time employees to assist our full time staff 5 days each week. This was due to the growth and increasing need for emergency response capability in our community. KSFD houses two front line pumpers, one rescue truck, and one brush truck. In addition, we assist the Pickens County Water Response Team by housing a dive boat, dive trailer, and swiftwater rescue trailer.
