Shlamalokhoon!

Our fellow Assyrian American, Ted Mason, is running for Cook County Commissioner, bringing an important moment for our community and the opportunity for greater representation in local leadership.

If elected, he would make history as the first Assyrian American to serve on the Cook County Board of Commissioners — a milestone that would make our community proud and highlight the importance of having our voices represented.

Our heritage is our history. Our voices are our future. Make your voice heard — get out and vote!

On Assyrian Martyrs Day, we remember and honor the countless Assyrians who have lost their lives through generations of massacres, persecutions, and hardships. We pay tribute to the victims of the Simele Massacre and the Sayfo genocide while recognizing the continued strength and resilience of the Assyrian people. I am proud to represent a thriving Assyrian Community that continues to preserve its culture, heritage, and identity.

On Assyrian Remembrance Day, we reflect on the lives lost and the survivors of the Assyrian genocide, while recognizing the resilience of the Assyrian people. Today, we must continue to stand against persecution and hatred in all its forms.

Tonight, I joined the Assyrian community to commemorate Assyrian Martyrs Day.

On this day, we honor the memory of those who were brutally murdered at the hands of the Ottoman Empire and during the genocide in Simele, as well as those who have been victims of massacre and persecution throughout the history of the Assyrian people.

I ask that we stand together to commemorate the lives lost, ensuring the Assyrian genocide is not forgotten.

I would like to commend the Assyrian community for continuing to raise awareness about all that the Assyrian people have overcome and for supporting as well as uplifting your community.

I am honored to represent a thriving Assyrian community in the 8th State Senate district.
