🥎💚 CLASS 4 DISTRICT 8 RUNNER-UP!

Congratulations to our Smithville Lady Warriors on an incredible district run! 🏆

Although we fell short in the championship game, these girls left it all on the field and battled until the very end! What a great game and an even greater display of heart, grit, and determination! 💪🔥

We are so proud of this team and everything they've accomplished this season!

💚To our Seniors, Class of 2027: Thank you for the heart, leadership, dedication, and memories you've brought to this program. You've left your mark on Smithville softball, and your impact will be felt long after the final out. We are so proud of you and can't wait to see what your futures hold! Once a Warrior, always a Warrior!

Warrior pride runs deep! 💚

HEADS UP! There is a traffic obstruction on 92 Highway, east of the school entrance, near White Iron Ridge. A large truck struck and pulled down some overhead electrical lines. There were no injuries, there was no fire. Smithville Police Department is on the scene controlling traffic. Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative is responding and will be working in the area probably for hours making repairs. Use extra caution in the area, especially with the potential severe thunderstorms approaching.

For the last 2 days, SAFD firefighters have trained with firefighters from the Kearney Fire & Rescue Protection District, Central Platte Fire Protection District, Edgerton Trimble Fire Protection District, and Excelsior Springs Fire Department at ESFD’s training facility. A lot of work and coordination go on behind the scenes to make these training exercises happen, but the experience they provide firefighters is invaluable.
