Meet Boston Hunter, a proud volunteer at Snohomish ECEAP!
“ECEAP only exists because of its Parent Advisory Council (PAC): family partnership to support young learners is our primary mission! Boston always steps up for anything that is asked of her whether it's her fellow Snohomish School District PAC members, County PAC members, or ECEAP staff. Other parents learn from Boston's enthusiasm and leadership at every monthly meeting as well as through her hard work representing ECEAP at the County and state level. We are almost as proud of her as her son is. He says his mom is the BEST, and all of us at ECEAP agree!”- ECEAP
• What is your role/title at the school you volunteer with? I am a volunteer parent.
• How long have you been volunteering in Snohomish School District schools and what got you started with volunteering? This my second-year volunteering at ECEAP. I got started volunteering by being introduced to PAC meetings for Snohomish County ECEAP.
• Do you have any students/children in the district? Yes, I have one child in preschool.
• What kinds of activities or responsibilities do you take on during your time volunteering in school/ What does your time volunteering in the school typically look like? My volunteer work I do for Snohomish ECEAP, is that I am co-chair for Snohomish County ECEAP boards and commission and help run monthly PAC meetings. I also speak at the ECEAP parent monthly meetings where I talk about resources, helpful tips for parents or any new updates about Snohomish County ECEAP PAC meetings.
• What’s your favorite thing about volunteering in the school? My favorite thing about volunteering is learning about all the resources I can share with parents so they can thrive and have help anyway they need. I also loved volunteering for advocacy day at the state capital where we got to meet legislators to talk about keeping funding for ECEAP, and sharing my story with them.
• Anything you’d like to add? I would love to thank Laura and all the amazing ECEAP staff for everything they do for their students. They teach my child with such love and joy. Thank you for all for being so amazing.
Thank you, Boston, for all that you do!
