๐Ÿฉธ 50 units of blood collected, including 5 first-time donors, in just two days!

Thank you, Snoqualmie! On September 24th and 25th, our community rolled up their sleeves at Fire Station 155 for another Bloodworks Northwest mobile blood drive, and you delivered.

Each unit can be separated into red blood cells, plasma, and platelets, so those 50 donations could help up to 150 patients across the Pacific Northwest. Thatโ€™s a big deal for a small town.

To our regulars who keep coming back and to our first-timers who took the leap: thank you.

Our next community blood drives are December 1, 2, 4, and 14. The holidays are one of the toughest times of year for the blood supply, so thereโ€™s no better time to give.

An experienced paraglider is recovering after a hard landing on Mount Si turned into a multi-agency alpine rescue operation Sunday.

On Sunday, September 20, at 1:58 pm, crews received a call for a paraglider who had crashed in a tree after launching just below Haystack Rock, off the summit of Mount Si. The patient suffered a broken leg in terrain far from any established trail, complicating access for rescue teams.

Snoqualmie firefighters responded and assisted alongside Eastside Fire & Rescue and Seattle Mountain Rescue, whose technical rescue team located the patient and helped stabilize them for evacuation. The patient was then hoisted by a Snohomish County Helicopter Rescue Team(SNOHAWK) and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

This mission was a collaborative effort involving responders from King County 4x4 Search and Rescue (4x4), King County Incident Support Team, Seattle Mountain Rescue, SPART (King County Ski Patrol Rescue Team), and King County Explorer Search and Rescue, with a helicopter hoist from the SNOHAWK team.

This rescue is a reminder of how quickly conditions can change in the backcountry โ€” and how critical mutual aid partnerships are for getting people off the mountain safely. Thank you to all the agencies involved for a successful rescue.

Snoqualmie Fire Station is looking sharp thanks to a local teen's Eagle Scout project.

Snoqualmie Fire Station just got a brand-new entrance sign, built by Aditi Sanjay of Snoqualmie Scout Troop 1776 as her Eagle Scout project! ๐Ÿฆ…

The sign features changeable letters, so the station can now share safety reminders, event announcements, class schedules, and more with the community right from the curb.

Huge thanks to Aditi for this awesome addition! ๐Ÿ‘

September is National Preparedness Month: Build a Kit

Every September, we use this time to remind our community that emergencies don't wait, and neither should you.

We are here when you need us, but in the first moments after a disaster, you may need to be your own first responder. Do you have what it takes to keep your family safe and comfortable until we can reach you?

Building an emergency kit doesn't have to be expensive or overwhelming. Start with what you've already got at home, canned food, water, first aid supplies, and build from there. A few items a week adds up fast.

Visit ready.gov/kit for a full checklist and tips on tailoring your kit to your family's needs. Preparedness starts at home, and we're glad to help.

Those 3 rescue calls this month are part of why training matters.

Firefighters spent time this month training on technical rope rescue skills on steep and often slippery terrain. It's hands-on preparation for one of the most challenging rescue environments in our service area.
