October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we are reminded of the importance of supporting, encouraging, and standing beside those affected by breast cancer.

These photos from our Pink Out football game are especially meaningful. Our cheerleaders and football players took a moment to recognize two very special moms in our SCMS family who are courageously battling breast cancer.

As a middle school family, we want these moms—and all of our students whose families have been touched by breast cancer—to know that they are not alone. We are proud to stand with them, cheer them on, and surround them with love and support.

Our students are learning that being part of a community means showing up for one another, celebrating the victories, offering encouragement during the hard moments, and reminding others that they matter.

It's School Bus Driver Appreciation Day, and we're proud to recognize the dedicated bus drivers and monitors who help keep our students safe every day!

From early morning pickups to afternoon drop-offs, our transportation team plays an essential role in supporting our students and families. Their commitment, care, and dedication make a difference throughout our school community.

Our school has partnered with Help A Child Smile to offer dental care at school. In most cases there is no cost to you if your child is insured with Medicaid/CHIP! Private insurance and affordable self-pay options are also available. Help A Child Smile will offer dental care here at the school on October 28,2026. Sign up today! Last day to sign up will be October 27, 2026.

Homecoming festivities are in full swing, and yesterday our Redskins brought the laughs with Adam Sandler Day! From oversized T-shirts and basketball shorts to the classic Sandler-inspired looks, our students and staff had fun showing off their spirit. We love seeing our SCMS family get into the Homecoming fun and make memories together! ❤️🖤

🏈❤️ There’s another story that should be shared in light of our championship win this past Saturday. 🖤🏆

Winder-Barrow brought their cheerleaders to the championship game, but we didn’t have ours there because SC had TWO competition cheer teams competing that same day. So, the first half looked a little different.

Bristol Brown stepped up to help hold the run-through banner and facilitate the beginning of the game, just as our cheerleaders normally do. She jumped in without hesitation and helped make sure our team still had that special game-day welcome and support. 📣❤️

Then, Brooklyn Huckeba started rounding up the cheerleaders who were present—and suddenly, the second half looked and felt completely different. 📣🔥 The energy changed. The players had their cheer section. Students stepped up and supported their team when it mattered.

This is middle school. This is leadership. This is teamwork. ❤️🖤

We are so proud of Bristol, Brooklyn, and every student who jumped in and made a difference. It’s moments like this that make us proud to be part of the SC family.
