Interested in learning with a Park Ranger? North Chickamauga would love to have you! We welcome organizations, clubs, public and private schools, and homeschools to submit programming ideas and make learning fun! Comment “🌿” below and we’ll send you the link to our “Request A Program” form!

Our Rangers are experienced and knowledgeable across a variety of subjects, and our programs are designed to support your academic standards and educational goals. Once your request is submitted, please allow 10 days for processing. Most programs are ready within 4–6 weeks!

🟢TRAILHEAD NOW OPEN!🟢

Our Barker Pounds Trailhead is now open after undergoing construction! The construction project opened up the parking lot area to allow for more parking spots and easier access pulling in and out. Now you can spend more time on the trail and less time finding a spot!☀️🏕️

📍A friendly reminder that parking alongside the road is prohibited as it is private property. Please use the designated lot only!

🚧CLOSED TO ALL ACCESS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!🚧

Our Barker Pounds Trailhead is undergoing construction at this time, but we are still seeing visitors trying to access the trail. For the safety of our guests, we have closed off the trailhead and parking lot up to the entrance of the area. Prior to the entrance is private property and any vehicles found alongside the road will be towed.

All backcountry campsites are closed during this time, too. Updates will be provided once they have reopened. Thank you!
