Hello SVSP Families,
After years of advocating for CDCR to correct its Written Consent for Minor Visitation form, the updated form was released today.

Going forward, please ensure that all families use the new form. The required California notarial wording is now properly enclosed in a box, eliminating the need for the notary to attach a separate loose acknowledgment certificate.

This wording format has been required by California law since 2014, and CDCR has now brought the form into compliance.

Per the Visiting Sergeant, please use the updated donation form for all donations.

All donations require prior approval before they can be donated during an in-person visit and a Family Visit. Please allow up to 30 days for processing and approval.

Donation forms may be submitted in person to Visiting Staff or by email to the Visiting staff or to IFC.

Re: A Yard Microwaves

According to the Facility Captain, the microwaves currently on A Yard were purchased with a special fund that was available only once. This fund was not intended to provide ongoing money for CDCR to repair or replace the microwaves.

When the microwaves stopped working, there was no funding available through that source to repair or replace them.

IFC is working with the facility to look for possible solutions and determine what options are available.

Important Reminder: Child Supervision Requirement

For the safety, security, and well-being of all visitors, Salinas Valley State Prison requires that all children remain at their assigned visitation table unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

•Children should be under the direct supervision of a parent or legal guardian for the entire duration of the visit.
•Children are not permitted to wander throughout the visitation area, approach other tables, or enter any designated restricted areas.
•Parents and legal guardians are responsible for maintaining direct supervision of their children at all times and for ensuring that their children comply with all visitation rules.

This requirement is intended to minimize the risk of accidents, injuries, disruptions, and other safety or security concerns and to ensure that the visitation environment remains safe, orderly, and comfortable for all visitors. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in appropriate action in accordance with facility policies.

54020.29 Visiting Conduct
•Minors shall remain under the constant control and supervision of the accompanying adult.

54020.29.1 Suspension or Exclusion of Visitors from the Visiting Program
•When verbal warning and/or restrictions fail to achieve compliance, or fail to correct the conduct by a visitor, the visit shall be terminated for the day.

Facility D Only

Per the Visiting Lieutenant, there will be no regular visits for D Yard until further notice.

Please note that visits for PIP incarcerated persons who visit in D Visiting will not be affected. Additionally, pre-approved Family Visits for Facility D will continue as scheduled and will not be affected.
