As hunting season draws near and thousands of people head to the woods, volunteer firefighters from Shevlin Fire Dept. and Solway Fire Department participated in some search and rescue training last night! This training included traditional search and rescue techniques as well as drone-based searching and provided a good refresher in the event that someone becomes lost or disoriented.
Special thanks to Guy Schermerhorn for organizing the training and Jeff Eastey for use of his property to complete the training!

Today, on the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that took the lives of 343 first responders and a total of 2977 civilians, we take a moment to reflect on this event and the freedoms we enjoy as citizens of the United States of America. Today we remember those lives lost as well as the lives lost in military service following this attack. May we never forget!
