As another busy summer season comes to an end, we encourage everyone to schedule time to prepare for potential emergencies and disasters.

Create an emergency survival kit, identify all potential risks in your neighborhood, develop an evacuation or shelter-in-place plan, and stay informed by using multiple emergency alert services.

**Somerset Fire/Rescue**

Su***de is complicated and tragic — and it is often preventable. Knowing the warning signs and how to get help can save lives in our community.

Look for behaviors that may mean someone is struggling, especially if they are new, getting worse, or follow a loss or painful change:

- Talking about wanting to die, feeling hopeless, trapped, or like a burden
- Withdrawing from family, friends, or activities
- Sleeping much more or much less than usual
- Increased use of alcohol or drugs
- Extreme mood swings, agitation, or reckless behavior
- Giving away prized possessions or saying goodbye

If you notice these signs in yourself or someone else, take it seriously. You do not have to have all the answers — help them connect to help.

**Somerset Fire/Rescue Training – Tuesday Night** 🚒🔥💧

Great turnout for water supply and hose operations training this week! 🔥

Crews worked on setting up portable tanks, drafting, hose deployment, and flowing water under realistic conditions. Solid teamwork across the board — from the newer faces to the experienced hands helping guide the way. 💪🚒

These nights keep us sharp, build confidence, and make sure we’re ready when the community needs us. 🔥

The Village of Somerset has officially released its Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Public Safety Campus Feasibility Study.

The study will evaluate current and future facility needs for Police, Fire/Rescue, and potential future EMS services. It will include stakeholder engagement with the Town, Fire/Rescue, EMS partners, and other applicable stakeholders.
