🚒🔥 Fire Prevention Week – Educating Our Future! 🔥🚒

This week, the Bexar County ESD 5 Fire Department had the opportunity to visit several schools throughout our community, providing important fire safety education to over 1,000 students!

Fire prevention and public education are among the most important responsibilities of the fire service. By teaching children about fire safety at an early age, we help build safer homes, stronger families, and a safer community.

We want to thank our local schools, teachers, and students for welcoming our firefighters and making this week such a success!

Remember, fire safety starts with education, and prevention saves lives! 🚒❤️

Our Department felt immense pride serving the district last Friday, September 11th. From community gatherings to the Somerset ISD football game, we were there every step of the way. Raising the American flag high for all to see was the perfect end to a day dedicated to our citizens. We are honored to serve you! 🚒✨🇺🇸 #343

We recently participated in a teacher appreciation event hosted by Bexar County Pct. 1 in conjunction with the ESD5 Professional Firefighter Association. This event provided a significant opportunity to recognize the hard work of our educators and contribute to the local community. We are grateful for the invitation to serve alongside these professional organizations.

Below are grilling tips to keep you, your family, and your neighbors safe:
🔥 Only use grills outdoors, away from siding and deck railings
🔥 Clean grills often and remove grease or fat build-up
🔥 Make sure your gas grill lid is open before lighting
🔥 Have a 3-foot safe zone around grills and campfires. Keep kids and pets away from the area
🔥 Dispose of coals after they have cooled in a metal can
🔥 Never leave grills, fire pits, and patio torches unattended
Enjoy!
