Just 15 days left til the Nov. 3 election! If you haven’t yet voted, vote early! Either take your ballot to the drop box, mail in your ballot, or beginning Oct. 24th, vote in person at Franklin’s early polling location – the community center on DeMott Lane.

At our last general membership meeting, we hosted a panel discussion about the importance of this midterm election. It was titled “Maximizing Turnout: Ensuring Integrity of the 2026 Midterm Election” and was moderated by Commissioner Director Shanel Robinson. Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman, who we thanked for her years of service in Congress, was one of the panelists. Others were candidates Paul Drake, Liz Graner and Adam Hamawy, along with Steve Peter and Peg Schaffer. Here are a few photos taken at the Oct. 12 meeting.

On this Member Monday, which takes place a week shy of the close of Hispanic Heritage Month, we introduce you to Erika Inocencio, who currently is vice president of the Franklin Board of Education.

In this latest installment of our video series, Erika explains how joining the JFK Club came naturally to her. She grew up in a home where civic responsibility was important, so when she moved to Franklin, where she is now raising her daughters, she joined the club, eventually serving as a corresponding secretary on the Executive Board, and then running for the seat she currently holds on the Board of Education.

Last Wednesday, JFK Club and Franklin Township Democratic Committee members were among the many area Democrats who attended the annual Somerset County Democratic Committee Gala at The Palace here in Franklin.

The event, which included a cocktail hour and dinner, was hosted by
Somerset County Democratic Committee Chair Marguerite "Peg" Schaffer. She introduced the keynote speaker, Governor Mikie Sherrill, who spoke enthusiastically about the importance of the upcoming election and the effort to regain Democratic majorities in Congress.

Peg Shaffer introduced elected officials and midterm candidates for office. It was a wonderful evening where attendees had an opportunity to network, reconnect with friends, and meet new people.

Thanks to the SCDC for bringing everyone together. Maybe next year we'll see even more local Democrats at this fun event.

In the meantime, let’s get out the vote!

We're thankful that our picnic was held last Saturday and not this weekend!

On September 19, we enjoyed beautiful weather, an outdoor lunch, and the opportunity to hear from our local candidates. The annual event brings together members of the JFK Democratic Club and the Franklin Township Municipal Democratic Committee for an afternoon of collaboration, conversations, and community.
