Students in Mrs. Fitzpatrick’s Math class have been practicing adding and subtracting within 100 using place value strategies (KY Standard 2.NBT.B.5). Students put a tasty twist on base-ten blocks by using pretzels to represent tens(rods) place value and marshmallows to represent ones(units) place value. Hands-on learning makes math fun!

Play-Doh + counting bears = math fun in Mrs. Dean’s class 🧸

Our kindergartners practiced adding within 5 using counting bears and Play-Doh to make math hands-on, engaging, and FUN! We’re building number sense one squish, count, and sum at a time! 💛💙

OHES Fall Picture Day is Wednesday, October 28th. Please note: We are using a new company this year and ALL picture orders must be placed PRIOR to picture day. Order forms will be sent home this week and orders may be placed online or turned in PRIOR to picture day. Late orders are subject to higher prices and include an additional ship-to-home fee for direct delivery. Online ordering will be open October 14 - October 28 and will close exactly 24 hrs. after picture day.
