For someone living with dementia, even a one hour change can disrupt sleep, mealtimes, medication routines, and that sense of knowing what comes next. When routines shift suddenly, confusion and sundowning can show up a little more easily.

Keep meals, medications, and bedtime as close to the usual routine as possible. Open the curtains early and let the morning light help reset the day. Give extra reassurance if your loved one seems unsettled or out of sync.

Small changes can make a big difference. If you are caring for someone with dementia this weekend, be patient with yourself too.

One of the sweetest parts of the day at Marigold Manor is seeing the ladies get their bodies moving a little bit in ways that feel good for them.

A few steps down the hall, a gentle stretch, some fresh air by the door, or a little chair exercise can make such a difference.

It is not about big workouts here. It is about keeping the body awake, the mind engaged, and the day feeling a little brighter.

Little movement, loving encouragement, and a home where every step still matters.
