It has been a busy couple of days for Hancock County fire departments. Rcc dispatchers have been busy with storm related damage and fires. Your Sorrento firefighters have been toned out six times in the last 2 days. Thank you to the firefighters here and in surrounding towns for the hard work. Hope its a restful weekend for all.

The Sorrento Fire Department would like to congratulate the Hancock Fire Academy Class of 2026, including ours own Jake Parker. It's been a long six months but you made it through. Proud of you.

While many tables are set,
some plates sit unfinished.

Christmas meals are reheated or
eaten in minutes,
or missed entirely
because another call came in.

Lights flash.
Engines roll.
Families wait.

This season, we pause to say thank you
to the first responders
who choose service over comfort,
duty over tradition,
and love in action over a seat at the table.

Your sacrifice does not go unseen.
Your presence is a gift.
And your courage carries Christmas into places where hope is urgently needed.

Thank you for showing up —
especially when it costs you something.

❤️❤️
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS. HAVE A SAFE HOLIDAY SEASON! AND TO THOSE ON DUTY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON STAY SAFE!
