September 11, 2001 — 25 Years of Remembrance
Twenty-five years ago, our nation was forever changed. On September 11, 2001, we witnessed unimaginable loss, extraordinary courage, and a unity that carried us through one of America’s darkest days.
The South Amboy First Aid Squad, along with other agencies from around Middlesex County, responded. The Middlesex County EMS Strike team was dispatched to Jersey City and Weehawken. Thousands of first responders from all over New Jersey waited for the expected mass casualty patients to come. But unfortunately they never did.
Today, we remember the thousands of innocent lives taken, the families whose lives were changed forever, and the first responders who answered the call without hesitation. We honor the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, paramedics, rescue workers, and volunteers who ran toward danger to help others, many making the ultimate sacrifice.
As the years pass, the memories remain. The courage displayed that day continues to inspire us, reminding us of the strength found in service, sacrifice, and compassion.
May we never forget those we lost, those who served, and those who continue to carry the weight of that day in their hearts.
Forever Remembered. Forever Honored. September 11, 2001 – September 11, 2026. 🇺🇸
