Did you know that some birds are able to sleep while flying?

It's true...Migratory birds like the swift can engage in unihemispheric slow-wave sleep. This means they shut down half of their brain to rest while keeping the other half awake and the eye open, allowing them to sleep mid-flight.

Join us Sunday at 2:00pm for one of our most fun events: Snakes and Turtles and visit with our very own naturalist and reptile enthusiast Lara Sviatko as she shares her knowledge about these cold-blooded animals. In fact, you’ll have a chance to touch a snake as well as look for Stillman’s snakes and pond turtles. Don’t forget to call and reserve a spot.
