For survivors, seeking help can mean navigating complicated systems, difficult decisions, and barriers that others may never see.
When those systems fail to meet survivors where they are, support matters even more.
We can listen. We can advocate. We can stand with survivors.

Podemos escuchar. Podemos defender sus derechos. Podemos acompañar a las sobrevivientes. 💜

đź’ś Purple Thursday is October 15!
We invite our community to wear purple this Thursday in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and in support of survivors of domestic violence.
Wearing purple is a visible reminder that survivors are not alone, that their experiences matter, and that our community has a role in creating spaces where people are met with support rather than judgment.
Whether you wear purple, share this post, or take a moment to learn more about domestic violence, every act of awareness helps keep the conversation going.
đź’ś Wear purple. Show support. Stand with survivors.

“Maybe it wasn’t that bad.”
“They didn’t mean it.”
“Why didn’t they just leave?”
“He’s a man. He can handle it.”
When violence is minimized, survivors can feel even more alone and it can make it harder to reach out for help.
We can do better. Believe survivors. Listen without judgment. Take their experiences seriously.

Podemos hacerlo mejor. Creerles a las sobrevivientes. Escuchar sin juzgar. Tomar en serio sus experiencias. đź’ś

Sometimes abuse looks less like a single incident and more like a pattern of control.
If you're questioning whether something happening in your relationship is abuse, you don't have to wait until things get worse or become physical to reach out.
An advocate can listen, help you explore your options, and work with you on a safety plan that fits your situation.
Your choices are yours. Your safety matters.

📸✨ Turns out three years goes by pretty fast when you’re busy doing the work.

Help us celebrate Kaylee’s 3-year work anniversary at Crisis Support Network! 🥳

Behind every advocate is a reason they chose this work. For Kaylee, that reason comes down to knowing just how much support can matter:
💬 “I do this work because I know firsthand how much these services matter. When I was a child, CSN’s Child Advocacy Center services didn’t exist, and I experienced what it was like to not have access to that kind of support. That has stayed with me and is a big part of why this work is so important to me. Everyone deserves to have a trusted resource they know they can turn to during some of the worst moments of their lives. I’m proud to be part of an organization that provides that support and works to make sure it continues to be there for the people who need it.”

Over the past three years, both Kaylee’s role and CSN have continued to evolve.
💬 “I’ve been able to learn and grow in ways I never expected when I first started, and I’m incredibly appreciative of the trust and opportunities CSN has given me.”

đź’™ Happy 3 years, Kaylee! Thank you for the dedication and care you bring to the many different ways we support survivors and families!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. đź’ś
This month, we’re putting the focus where it belongs: with survivors.
Domestic violence doesn’t always look the way people expect. Leaving isn’t always simple. Being believed isn’t always guaranteed. And navigating systems, relationships, and life after abuse can be complicated.
That’s why “with survivors” means more than words. It means listening without judgment. Respecting survivors’ choices. Challenging the beliefs that minimize abuse. Speaking up when systems fall short. And showing up—even when hope feels hard.
Throughout October, we’ll be talking about what it really means to stand .
Because survivors deserve more than awareness.
They deserve action.

Leaving isn’t always as simple as walking away.
For someone experiencing domestic violence, leaving can be one of the most difficult and dangerous steps they take. An abusive person may use threats, stalking, financial control, children, housing, isolation, or other forms of control to make leaving feel impossible.
That’s why leaving often takes planning, preparation, and strategy. It may mean quietly gathering important documents, identifying safe places, building a support system, creating a safety plan, or waiting for the right moment.
And sometimes, leaving isn’t the safest or most realistic option right now. Staying does not mean someone is choosing the abuse. They may be carefully navigating a situation where leaving could increase their risk.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, you don’t have to figure out a safety plan alone. Our advocates can provide confidential support, help you explore your options, and work with you to create a safety plan that fits your situation.

📸✨ A dozen years of advocacy, growth, and memories at CSN. 💜
Help us celebrate Debbie’s 12-year work anniversary at Crisis Support Network! 🎉
Twelve years is a pretty incredible milestone. Over the years, Debbie has been part of countless conversations, moments of support, difficult days, small victories, and everything in between.
As one of our longest-serving advocates, Debbie has watched CSN grow and change through the years while continuing to be a familiar and trusted presence for the people we serve.
And while we could probably fill an entire album with everything that has happened over the last 12 years, one thing is certain: Debbie has made an impact that reaches far beyond any single year, client, or conversation. đź’™
From the early days to where CSN is today, we're grateful for the knowledge, experience, and dedication Debbie has brought to this work.
🥳 Happy 12-year anniversary, Debbie! We’re celebrating you today and all the years of advocacy, growth, and memories along the way.
