Attention EV Drivers:

Starting November 1, 2026 City-owned electric vehicle (EV) charging stations will have an hourly fee of $3/hour after two hours of free charging. To initiate a charge using City-owned EV charging stations, please be sure to use a compatible app, such as ZEF Energy. FLO, or AmpUp.

The City of South Bend has implemented a $3.00 hourly fee to use a charging station beyond the free two hours. To initiate a charge, download and open a compatible charging app. There is no cost for using a charging station for less than 2 hours.

Solid Waste District of St Joseph County says "[Lithium batteries] can be brought to the Household Hazardous Waste drop-off at 828 W. Kerr St. South Bend anytime during normal business hours. Hours are Monday through Friday 8:30-4 and Saturday 8-12. You just need to be a resident of St. Joseph County Indiana. The EV Display event at South Bend's First Friday is this week, September 4, 2026!
Stop by from 5 - 7:30 pm in downtown South Bend to see a variety of plug-in hybrids and all-electric vehicles and talk to local electric vehicle drivers.

We appreciate all of the local vehicle drivers who volunteer their time to put on this educational event each year!
