In honor of National Friends of Libraries Week, we want to give a shoutout to the Friends of South Berwick Library. Today and every day, we couldn't serve the community without the remarkable support we receive from this group of dedicated, library-loving volunteers.
Our beautiful library space would not exist without the work of the Friends, who raised almost a million dollars over 15 years ago now to renovate St. Michael's Church. But civic minded residents didn't stop once the building was opened. They fundraise to pay for all the library's programs and special events including craft supplies for story times, Summer Reading, Read 'Til You Bleed and the Storybook Ball. They also support our digital book collection, our Library of Things and help keep our building looking good!
From book sales to bake sales, these volunteers are busy all year around making sure South Berwick has the best possible library!
Want to thank the Friends? Drop a comment here, follow them on Facebook, volunteer, attend a meeting or donate money to support their library affirming work.
