Our Officers receive training to recognize criminal indicators and suspicious circumstances during encounters like this situation. This training plays an important role in our proactive approach to law enforcement, helping officers identify illegal drugs and criminal activity. Just as importantly, it can help officers recognize situations where someone may be in danger and take action to protect them.
After locating the juvenile, our officers worked with the proper authorities to ensure she was safely returned to her home.
This incident is a reminder that proactive policing is about more than enforcing traffic laws or taking drugs off the streets. It is also about protecting the vulnerable individuals and keeping our community safe.
Finally, we thank our community and government elected officials for the continued support you show the Police Department.
