Tony joined our Fall River Life Skills program in 2013 and expressed an interest in cooking meals for the people in his life. Over the years at Community Connections, Tony has grown from making sandwiches to preparing a delicious, hearty meal for our entire staff! On October 15, he served up Mississippi pot roast with fresh, homemade mashed potatoes and earned rave reviews from everyone who enjoyed it!

Stories like Tony’s reflect our commitment to person-centered care. At Community Connections, we empower people to build skills, pursue their passions, and create lives of greater independence and inclusion.

A special thank-you to Tony’s Case Manager, Nicole, for her dedication and support in helping make this dream come true.

Community Connections was honored to support The Veterans' Kitchen at its first luncheon in Swansea and we are proud of our longstanding partnership with such an impactful organization. Together, we are working to make our communities better for all.

Last year's Family Fun Day & Walk was a huge success, featuring walkers from across our community, along with special guests, costumes, games, candy, and fun for all. Don't miss out this year! We were proud to celebrate Abby Law and Gretchen Arvanitopoulos at the ADDP's Impact Awards, who were both recognized with Pathfinder Impact Awards for the meaningful ways they strengthen inclusion, build community connections, and keep the goals and aspirations of the people we support at the center of their work.

And we’ll never forget a particularly special moment from the evening. Alex, a participant from our Fall River CBDS program, had his artwork, Hands, presented to Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell. Alex then joined her on stage during her acceptance speech.

It was a beautiful moment that celebrated creativity, inclusion, and the many ways people with disabilities contribute to their communities.
We’re so proud of Abby, Gretchen, and Alex, and grateful for a night that reminded us what it means to be Community Connectors.
