Yesterday Captain Michael Pressgrove graduated from The National Public Safety Innovation Academy (NIA) after an intensive, eight-week training course.
This executive-level leadership program held in Winter Haven, Florida is designed to prepare the next generation of law enforcement leaders to go beyond traditional personnel management. Participants gained first hand experience with emerging technology, cyber security threats and protocols, crisis response and communication, officer wellness and peer support systems, recruitment strategies and so much more!
The program combined classroom instruction and discussion of real-life cases with presentations from notable speakers including Polk County Sheriff Judd, Dateline’s Chris Hanson and Ryan Montgomery. They also took part in a week of physical training, including a ropes course and hands-on demonstrations of new technology in compliance tools.
Classmates in attendance were from agencies all over the country. This provided a valuable opportunity to learn, collaborate and share experiences.
Congratulations Captain Pressgrove! We are proud of your commitment to professional growth and leadership! We know that the knowledge you gained will benefit our entire department through your guidance, training and leadership.
