What a fantastic turnout for Tuesday's Red Ribbon Rally on the Town Green! It was inspiring to see our community and student-athletes unite to promote healthy, drug-free lifestyles and honor local heroes. Check out a few photos from the evening below!

SLOW DOWN: Round 2 starting this weekend

10/03/2026

Can you believe it's October?

We are busy planning our fall weekends in between Southington Yth Soccer League, Southington Soccer Club, Southington Valley Midget Football Assoc and Southington Recreation Dept.'s tennis lessons.

The kids are obsessed with Pumpkintown U.S.A. though they are still actively avoiding the jump-scares at Lake Compounce's Phantom Fall Fest. I also hear the Southington Drive-In Trunk or Treat is good, and I can't wait until they're old enough to go!

What is your favorite kid-friendly Halloween activity around town? Drop your recommendations in the comments!

Important Update from the Southington Revenue Office

📬 First, the exciting news: We have a brand-new payment Drop Box located right at the side entrance of Town Hall on Academy Street for quick and easy drop-offs!

November Demand Notices:
Notices for delinquent accounts are going out soon. Please review these parameters to avoid escalation, collection fees, or tax sales:

• 🏡 Real Estate & Sewer: Outstanding Real Estate balances (Grand List 2023 & prior) and Sewer bills (7-10 years delinquent) will be subject to a public tax sale.

• 🚗 Motor Vehicle & Personal Property: Unpaid MV accounts (GL 2023 & prior) and Personal Property accounts (GL 2025 & prior) will be turned over to our collection agency if not resolved. Note: This automatically adds a 15% collection fee to your balance.

How to resolve your account:
You can easily check your balance and pay online through the Southington Revenue Office Online Payment Portal.

🛑 Need immediate DMV clearance?
If you need to register a vehicle right away, you must make your payment in person at Town Hall using cash or a money order.

Good afternoon, residents.

The Town Transfer Station is currently scheduled to be open for regular hours tomorrow. (8AM-3PM)

However, with the impending storm, our Town of Southington, CT-Highway and Parks Department crews may need to be redirected to road clearing and emergency response. If a storm response is required, the Transfer Station will be closed from that point forward.

Please monitor this page and the Town of Southington, CT-Highway and Parks Department page before heading out tomorrow. We will only post an update if the Transfer Station is closed or if operations change.

Stay safe, and thank you for your patience as we prepare for the weather!

I had the pleasure of attending the Greater Hartford Civility Summit this past Wednesday at the West Hartford Town Hall, hosted by the Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG).

I was joined by Southington's Finance Director, Kristina Marino, and Board/Committee members Robert Britton and Denis Bougie.

The summit was an incredible opportunity to reflect on the vital role we all play in changing how we talk, lead, and solve problems together.

We had the chance to:

• Share perspectives on local governance
• Meet and collaborate with local leaders
• Make meaningful connections to better serve our community

When we change the way we communicate, we change the way we lead. Looking forward to bringing these insights back to Southington! 🏛️
