Southold Settles on One Percent Short-Term Rental Cap
The Southold Town Board decided on one of the final pieces in its proposed sweeping overhaul of its short-term rental code at its Oct. 21 Code Committee meeting, paving the way for upcoming public hearings.
Board members agreed, at least initially, to cap the total number of permits issued at 1 percent of the housing stock in each hamlet, for a total of 119 rentals.
The Town Board is expected to schedule public hearings on the proposal later this year.
