🚨A Reminder from Animal Control🚨
If you see an injured animal, a stray animal in need of assistance, or an animal that you believe may require attention from Animal Control, please contact us directly rather than relying on a Facebook post.
We recently became aware of a post regarding a dog that appeared to have possibly been struck by a vehicle. Unfortunately, the post had been up for approximately an hour before we saw it, and Animal Control had not received a call about the situation.
We understand that Facebook is a great way to share information with the community, but posting about an animal in need does not guarantee that the appropriate department will see the post in time.
If you see an animal that appears to be injured or in distress, please make the call first. You can always share the situation on Facebook afterward to help spread the word.
If the situation is an emergency, please call 911. If it is not an emergency, please contact the Etowah County non-emergency number at 256-442-2312 and request assistance from Animal Control.
Your call could make the difference in how quickly an animal receives help.
If an animal needs attention, please call Animal Control directly rather than waiting for someone to see a Facebook post.
