It began in a little schoolhouse in Ripon, Wisconsin, in 1854. A small group of dedicated abolitionists gathered to fight the expansion of slavery, and they gave birth to a Party dedicated to freedom and equal opportunity. The name “Republican” was chosen, alluding to Thomas Jefferson’s Democratic-Republican Party and conveying a commitment to the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The Party was formally organized in July 1854 by thousands of anti-slavery activists at a convention in Jackson, Michigan. And it was no accident that two years later, in 1856, the first Republican National Convention took place in Philadelphia, where the Constitution was written.

🚨 ROLL CALL: The Massachusetts House just voted down an amendment to suspend the 24-cent gas tax for 60 days.

The vote: 30 YES, 121 NO.

In a recent poll, nearly 7 in 10 Massachusetts residents support temporary gas tax relief, but House leaders said no.

Remember this roll call. Taxpayers asked for relief. Beacon Hill chose to keep collecting. ⛽

Saturday, 24 October we will be doing our stand out from the intersection of Suffield Street and Silver Street points of location are Geisler supermarket CVS and Dunkin’ Donuts. We will I’ll be parking in the Geisler supermarket parking lot. There are plenty of sidewalks. It’s one of the last weekends. We have to get everybody out and make some noise. Let’s get Mike and everybody else win. We will be there from 11 to one. I hope to see everybody there.
Also on Sunday 25 October , from 11 to 1we are going down to Pricerite on Memorial Avenue in West Springfield. It’s where we started off our standouts this year. We will be parking in the Pricerite parking lot and on there’s plenty of sidewalk and a lot of traffic the biggie has an event going on which they do every weekend, but the traffic is usually pretty good so it’ll be one of the last weekends we have to get out our waving and our horn honking.
This is not memorial Drive in Chicopee. This is memorial Avenue in West Springfield. Anybody has any questions. Please get in touch with me . again we are there from 11 to one.

I’m pleased to share that the Granville police department has been awarded $15,601 through the Municipal Road Safety Grant Program.

Thank you to all of our police departments and officers for their work on traffic safety and education.

This is the same radical ideology that rejects capitalism, seeks to upend traditional institutions, defund or abolish police and prisons, redistribute wealth by seizing or controlling major industries, and expand political power far beyond citizens. The Democratic Socialists of America platform tracks closely with these goals: abolish the Senate, fully defund and abolish traditional police and prison systems, public control of major industries, wealth redistribution, and voting rights for non citizens and those with criminal convictions.
Tom Hendrickson, the Democratic nominee for state representative in the 3rd Hampden District (Agawam/Southwick and surrounding towns), has been a DSA member since 2019 and is endorsed by the River Valley DSA. He runs as a Democrat but advances the same socialist framework, single payer healthcare framed against corporate profit, fair share taxes on the wealthy, challenging billionaires and big corporations, and prioritizing working class redistribution over market solutions.

Electing him doesn’t mean Paris style riots tomorrow. It means one more foothold for that ideology in our state legislature, local governments, and town politics. Every seat they take is another step toward normalizing radical policies that have repeatedly produced disorder, economic stagnation, and eroded public order elsewhere. Massachusetts doesn’t need another experiment in that direction.
