MEDIA RELEASE | Traffic Crash on Cherry Creek Road

At approximately 4:00 a.m. on October 21, 2026, the Sparta–White County Volunteer Rescue Squad, along with members of the Cherry Creek Volunteer Fire Department, BonDeCroft Volunteer Fire Department, North End Volunteer Fire Department, White County EMS, and the White County Sheriff’s Office, responded to an iPhone crash notification reporting a traffic accident on Cherry Creek Road.

Upon arrival, responders discovered one occupant entrapped inside the vehicle. Tragically, the individual was deceased. The scene was subsequently turned over to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

In times of tragedy, our first responders stand together, working side by side in difficult and heartbreaking circumstances to serve our community. Behind every call is a human life, a family, and a circle of loved ones whose lives may be forever changed. We are grateful for the dedication and compassion of every responder who answers the call, no matter the hour or the circumstances.

Please keep the victim’s family, loved ones, and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Ordinary people. Extraordinary missions.
