Did you know we partner with Spartanburg Regional to offer FREE exercise classes for anyone over 50 years old?

The class is every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. in the Cleveland Park Event Center Upper Level.

The one-hour group fitness and fall prevention program encourages everyone to work out at their own pace and modifications can be made for those with mobility concerns.

No need to sign up ahead of time, just show up on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, ready to burn some calories and have fun!

Spartanburg Parks has all sorts of FREE fun planned for you in September, all across Spartanburg County!

Some of the activities you see here are regular events at our community centers, and others we've added just as something special for September.

Any place you see a ⭐, that means it's an activity that requires you to sign up ahead-of time. All other events you can just show up to on that day, ready to have a great time. Unless otherwise noted, these events are family-friendly and all ages are welcome.

Just a heads up that there’s some construction happening on the sidewalk on the bridge, so that section of sidewalk will be closed until work is complete. Thanks for your patience as we work to make the park the best it can be!

Our friends at Spartanburg County Public Libraries are taking their collection on the road and stopping at the Cleveland Park playground today!

The Bookmobile will be by the playground from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.

The Bookmobile has over 3,500 items available to checkout including books, recorded books and DVDs. You can also sign up for a library card while the Bookmobile is visiting.

Did you know July is National Parks & Recreation Month? We’ll be celebrating all month long, and you’re invited to the party!

Thanks to so many incredible community partners, we have FREE FUN planned for you every weekday in July (except July 3rd). The party starts one week from today, on Wednesday, July 1st, with popsicles at the Tyger River Park splash pad!

BONUS: The more activities you participate in, the more chances you’ll have to win really great prizes! Starting Wednesday, July 1st, check out the post pinned at the top of our Spartanburg Parks page. Post photos of your family at our daily events in the comments. Every photo is an entry to win and we'll randomly select 5 winners at the end of the month!

No need to register ahead of time… Just show up to the daily event location, ready to have some fun! Children cannot be dropped off. An adult must be present with them.

🇺🇸 MEMORIAL DAY SCHEDULE 🇺🇸

If there are some breaks in the rain and you'd like to spend time outside over this long Memorial Day weekend, all of our parks, playgrounds and splash pads will be open.

Our offices and community centers will be closed on Monday.

Fitness centers will be open, with keyfob access only.

Kayak and paddleboard rentals at Lake Cooley will open for the season on Wednesday.

LAST CALL FOR 2026 SPARTANBURG PARKS SWEETHEART DANCE TICKETS!

Registration for this year's dance will close tomorrow (Wednesday, February 25th) at noon, so buy your tickets today while you still can!

This year's theme is Denim & Diamonds, so think fancy with a western flair!

This dance is for girls ages 5+, along with their fathers or father figures.

Guests will enjoy a BBQ dinner, a special visit from the Balloon Fairy, a DIY (decorate-it-yourself) cowboy hat station, dancing, a photo booth and plenty of prize giveaways!
