No outdoor burning allowed.

If you've done a burn in the past week, please check your pile to ensure no hot embers remain.

Since the Burn Ban was lifted, Blanco County has seen a sharp uptick in the number of wildfire calls.

The starts are largely due to property owners burning brush where the fires "get away" from them. This can be avoided, by following common-sense practices.

🔥 ALWAYS keep eyes on your burn piles.
🔥 Start small, then add to the pile as you go.
🔥 Don't light off more fires than you can manage.
🔥 Keep water, extinguishers, and equipment handy.

This afternoon Spicewood Fire, both North and South End Task Forces from Burnet County, a Task Force out of WilCo, Starflight, and Texas A&M Forest Service responded to assist with a grassfire in the Bertram area.

All Spicewood units have since cleared.

The fire is currently sitting at 128 acres with 75% containment.

This evening Spicewood Fire responded with other agencies to assist Round Mountain Volunteer Fire Department-Texas with a grass fire. Our Brush truck has since cleared.

Burn Ban may have been lifted, but it still dry out and there have been many fires started from burn piles in the past couple days across the Hill Country. If you are burning, don't burn more than you can handle at one time, make sure you have reasonable means to control it, and clear the tall brush to bare dirt as far as you can around the pile.

Urgent Alert from LCRA: LCRA is opening a floodgate at Starcke Dam. Conditions are dynamic and additional floodgate operations may be needed. Flows will be fast and water levels will be higher than usual downstream of the dam. Take action to protect people and property.
