Views from the TheZONE Mental Health Pop-Up✨

We’re excited to share that Discovery Counseling Group has been growing our community connections through our Mental Health Pop-Ups!🧠✨

You can find us the first Thursday of each month at a local Spokane Public Library 📍and the third Thursday of each month at TheZONE 📍. These pop-ups give us an opportunity to meet people where they are, share resources, answer questions, listen to community needs, and create more accessible pathways to mental health support.🌱

We’re grateful for every conversation, connection, and opportunity to learn🤓 from the communities we serve. Our hope is to continue growing this initiative and creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, supported, and connected.

Our Wildfire Relief Distribution was a true community effort.
Together, we served 600+ people and distributed around 75,000 items, along with:
🦷 42 dental exams
👓 195 vision screenings
🥫 450 bags of food
🤝 28 individuals and families connected with The ZONE for ongoing support

Thank you to Coordinated Care, Second Harvest Inland Northwest, Unity In the Community, Eastern Washington University, City of Cheney, Cheney Police Department, Thrive International, Mission Community Outreach Center, KREM 2 News’s Tools 2 Schools (facilitated by Communities In Schools of Northeast Washington), and all of the community members who showed up to support families affected by this summer’s wildfires.

Together, we served 600+ people and distributed around 75,000 items, along with:

A series of community events are hosted by the Northeast Community Center THEZONE to support our community impacted by the recent fires:

Fri, Aug. 28 | 10am–3pm — Wildfire Relief Distribution, with Coordinated Care, Northeast Community Center & Second Harvest Inland Northwest: free dental & vision screenings, plus food, hygiene items, diapers, clothing, and school supplies

Sat, Aug. 29 | 9am–1pm — Comfort Pop-Up Toy Shop, hosted by Community of Candles: free toys for kids impacted by the fires

Mon, Aug. 31 | 4–6pm — Renters Legal Aid, with KCBA Housing Justice Project: know your rights on damage, cleanup, and lease issues
