CTH E DETOUR NOTIFICATION

Due to heavy traffic, CTH E will need to be detoured on Pair o Lakes Road while crews are paving through the intersection of CTH K the week of October 12th. A detour will be set while crews are paving mainline and the intersection. Closures are going to be intermittent and last 2-4 hours.

TOWN OF BROOKLYN ROAD CLOSURE NOTIFICATION

Brooklyn Road in the Town of Brooklyn will be closed by the Highway Department from USH 53 to Lakeside Road for culvert replacements, excavation, pulverizing, gravel hauls and shaping.
Brooklyn Road will be closed weekly M-Th from October 12th through 22nd. Closures are expected to be 24 hrs/day. The roadway may be open at night depending on progress of the project.
Access will be maintained at all times to residents that live on the road.
There will be no posted detour.

CTH D ROAD CLOSURE NOTIFICATION

CTH D in Birchwood between Edenharter Drive and Lake Street will be closed for utility work required for a new bank.
CTH D will be closed at this location Monday September 28th through Friday October 2nd.
CTH D will be detoured via CTH DD, CTH F and STH 48.
Access will be maintained for local resident on Lake Street.

Washburn County is hosting a clean-up day on Saturday, October 10th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Collection will be held at the Washburn County Highway Department, 1600 County Highway H, Spooner, WI.
Accepted items include tires-vehicle tires, tractor tires, lawn mower tires (limit 20 per address), mattresses, furniture, electronics (including TVs), and appliances.

NOT accepted items include hazardous waste, recyclables, household garbage, batteries, bulbs, home remodel/construction debris, toilets, sinks, grills, lawn mowers, compressors, and air conditioners.

Only Washburn County property owners and renters are eligible to participate. Proof of residency or ownership will be required at the gate!

CTH K ROAD WORK NOTIFICATION

Highway Crews are starting work on CTH K from Sunset Lane to Pair o Lakes Road the week of September 14th.
CTH K will be pulverized, paved and shouldered.
All work will be completed with flagging operations M-Th from 6:30a – 3:30p with longer hours during paving.
Expect flagging operations through the end of October.
Access will be maintained for all local residents, buses and emergency services.

TOWN OF SPOONER ROAD WORK NOTIFICATION

Washburn County will start hauling gravel and pulverizing ¼ mile of Yellowsands Road beginning ½ mile north of STH 70 and heading north starting September 8th. Yellowsands Road will be closed from 6:30a – 3:30p while work is taking place. Any work not completed by Thursday, September 10th will be completed the week of September 14th. Access will be maintained to local residents, however delays should be expected while gravel hauling and pulverizing is taking place.

Yellowsands Road will be paved in early October with flagging operations.

Washburn County will start hauling gravel and pulverizing Carlton Road from Wright to Moore starting September 8th. Carlton Road will be closed from 6:30a – 3:30p while work is taking place. Any work not completed by Thursday, September 10th will be completed the week of September 14th. There will be no posted detour. Access will be maintained to local residents.

Carlton Road will be paved in early October with flagging operations.

TRAFFIC COUNTER USE NOTIFICATION

The Washburn County Highway Department recently purchased a radar traffic counter. The radar traffic counter is used to count the number of vehicles driving on a roadway, direction of vehicle travel, size of vehicles and speed of vehicles. No individual vehicle information is recorded. This is the modern version of black tubes placed over the roadway, which have been used for years. The information that is recorded is used to make engineering decisions on roadway improvements, speed limits, etc. Please do not disturb the traffic counters that will be mounted to a power pole or road sign adjacent to the roadway. If you have any questions, please contact the Highway Department at 715-635-4480.

ROAD CLOSURE NOTIFICATION

Washburn County will be pulverizing and paving CTH T between CTH D and Nice Lake Road over the next several weeks.
Weeks of August 31st and September 7th, expect CTH T to be closed to thru traffic from 6:30a – 3:30p for pulverizing and shaping.
Access will be maintained to all residents and emergency services.
Paving is tentatively scheduled for the week of September 14th with flagging operations.
No detours will be posted.
