The Spreckels Veterans Memorial District has not forgotten that horrific day 25 years ago…. And those old enough probably remember exactly where they were and what they were doing at those moments across our country. We will continue to support our Great Nation and Citizens, Military personnel and their families, our brave Veterans, and all First Responders. Without their bravery, sacrifice, and willingness to do what many cannot, so many more lives would have been lost with the risk of breaking our country’s spirit. But we not only endured, we united and remembered what it felt like to be proud Americans! Please stand with us in appreciating those still defending our cherished freedoms, and appreciate each other every chance you get! United felt empowering!!! Let’s choose United over a divided country. We must always REMEMBER, and never forget that historic day! That day reminds us all tomorrow is not promised.

A little birdie told me the sprinklers will be running at the Spreckels Veterans Memorial Park tomorrow (Wednesday 9/9/26) after Spreckels school lets out……. In case any moms want to be prepared for some relief from the projected hot weather😉

The Monkey Puzzle tree at the Spreckels Memorial Park is getting a little maintenance this morning to remove 7 large cones to keep the playground safe for the kiddos🙂. Shout out El Gabilan Tree Service for another fantastic job done! She’s a very healthy tree!!!!

REMEMBER those that gave All for the freedoms and liberties we are privileged to enjoy,

HONOR all that served and sacrificed before us to provide us these freedoms by your actions and deeds,

RESPECT our Armed Forces and their families for choosing to continue to protect our daily lives,

NEVER forget to be grateful to the brave men and women that helped create this way of life and great nation by making the ultimate sacrifice!

Just another sunny day at the Spreckels Memorial Park hanging out with some of my favorite peeps! After MANY decades of service the windbreak at the main picnic area pavilion had to be removed. Facility Manager Joe, our favorite part time employee Tim, SVMD Board Director Rick Mojica, and residents Sergio Gomez and Rick Jorgensen (not in the pics) all pitched in to dismantle the dilapidated structure. I wish to thank them all for their hard work and making these projects possible! We have the best community!!

Seeing what we have to work with now we are looking into getting laser cut aluminum panels for the upper sections of the new windbreak. Does anyone have any recommendations or connections to any businesses or trades with a CNC machine or ability to create panels with military branch insignias? Approximate dimensions will be 8’x4’ panels. Please message me if you have any suggestions 🙂
