We have a new website! And a new domain name! Thanks to Nick at w3Nerds, we worked hard to get it up and running, but there’s still edits/changes that have to happen as it’s a work in progress, so thanks in advance for your patience. Check it out!

I had an amazing time at last week’s PaLA (Pennsylvania Library Association) conference in Harrisburg. There were over 10 Chester County Library System librarians and staff attending, and about six of them presented. I presented a poster board at the Welcome Event on behalf of the PaLA Scholarship Committee. I also had the chance to tour the Capitol, and passed Katie Muth’s office doors (always a champion of libraries). Attending professional conferences, but especially PaLA, is a wonderful opportunity to attend workshops, network, and feel re-energized.

Please, please, please do not leave donated books on top of the book drop or anywhere outside. We’re actually not accepting donations right now because we don’t have the room (a book or two is ok, but bring it when the library is open so staff can review whether we will accept it or not). We will be accepting donations starting at the beginning of April for our annual book & plant sale in May. If your books are old, outdated, musty, we give permission to recycle them.

The library is closed today, Monday October 12th. We will reopen on Tuesday morning at 10am. Books can still be returned to the outside book drop and our book locker is available 24/7.

Heads up, Libby users! Starting Tuesday, October 13, Libby will require you to verify your library card with your PIN. When you borrow or place a hold, you’ll enter your 14‑digit CCLS barcode (no spaces!) and your PIN—the same one used for self‑checkout and your online account.

Need to reset your PIN? Visit catalog.ccls.org/pinreset or stop by the library.

We’ll share a reminder post with step‑by‑step login instructions as we get closer to October 13.
