Introducing our newest crew chief!

Shoshana, "Shani", joined Spring Hill looking for hands-on experience and a chance to help those in need. The great training program and supportive environment sealed the deal for her.

Shani is currently in school for a bachelor’s in nursing, with the long-term goal of becoming a pediatric nurse, possibly in the ER. We’re sure her compassion and dedication will take her far, and we’re glad to have her as one of our members!

Last night, our BLS and ALS crews responded to a mother in active labor, with her baby ready to make his arrival!

Before crews arrived, Rockland EMS Dispatch provided instructions to help keep both mom and baby safe.

Just two minutes after arriving on scene, our crews, including our newest Crew Chief, Shani Machlis, helped deliver a healthy baby boy!

Both mom and baby were transported to a local hospital in stable condition and great spirits.

While EMS often brings us into people’s lives during their most difficult moments, calls like these remind us that we also get to be part of some of their happiest.

Congratulations to the new mom and dad on the arrival of their baby boy!

Great work by our responding crews, Ramapo PD, and Rockland EMS Dispatch for their teamwork in bringing this baby safely into the world!

Thinking about joining Spring Hill EMS? Take a shift before you decide! Ride with a crew and find out what it’s like in the back of an ambulance. You'll get to see what EMS is all about before deciding if it's for you.

Already have EMS experience? You won’t start from square one. Ride with an officer and see what Spring Hill’s response is really like. Our training program fast-tracks experienced members, and you’ll be placed at the training stage that matches your skill level so you can get on the road sooner.

One shift is all it takes to see if Spring Hill is your next home. If you're interested in scheduling a ride-along, email Rebecca Finney ([email protected]).

Congratulations to our own President Akiva Zidell on graduating with honors from University of Mount Saint Vincent and passing his NCLEX! Akiva has spent months working hard as a nursing student in an accelerated program while simultaneously dedicating countless hours to Spring Hill as an officer.

We're grateful to have been part of his growth as a medical provider and look forward to his continued success.

Yesterday evening the officers of Spring Hill EMS had the pleasure of attending an EMS Forum hosted by Congressman Michael Lawler.

This forum provided an opportunity for EMS leaders across the NY-17 congressional district to come together and discuss the challenges facing our agencies, and express our perspectives, thoughts and ideas on the future of emergency medical services.

We appreciate the open dialogue and the Congressman’s willingness to listen and engage in meaningful conversation, giving the opportunity to bring the voices of our EMS providers directly to our elected representatives.

As the demands on emergency medical services continue to evolve, meaningful conversations and collaboration between EMS agencies and government leaders are crucial to ensuring that our communities continue to receive the care they deserve.

Thank you to Congressman Lawler and his team for organizing this important discussion and providing a platform for EMS to be heard.

Congressman Mike Lawler

Introducing our newest crew chief!
Ariela joined Spring Hill looking to become a part of a community of people with similar values. She found members who were eager to help her develop the skills that would ensure her success in EMS. As a crew chief, she enjoys giving back by teaching new trainees.

When she's not taking calls, you can find Ariela working as a figure skating coach. She began skating when she was 4 and spends as much time on the ice as possible. Her commitment is impressive and we know that patients are lucky to have her as their provider.

When you take the call, you never know where it’s going to take you!

On Sunday, units responded mutual aid to Bear Mountain for a hiker experiencing a medical emergency. Sometimes the job comes with a workout, a view, and a reminder that EMS can take you just about anywhere.

Staying fit, helping others, and enjoying what we do along the way!

Introducing our newest crew chief!

Avigayil joined Spring Hill because she has always loved the medical field. She thought EMS would be a good introduction to medicine. Spring Hill's professionalism and training program is what convinced her to apply.

Outside of Spring Hill, Avigayil has decided to further herself in medicine by going back to school with the goal of becoming a nurse. We wish her all the best in her studies and are grateful to have her as a member.
