June 30, 2026 | Solidarity Concert

The RMI Consulate joined M.E.I at their Solidarity Concert earlier this week, commemorating 80 years since our islands were first designated as ground zero for Operations Castle Bravo, the initial series of nuclear weapons testings conducted on our soils.

In a pre-recorded video broadcast, President Hilda C. Heine, the event’s keynote speaker, addressed the attendees saying that Operations Castle Bravo “was not simply a 12 year nuclear testing program, but was the beginning of a struggle that continues to this day”.

The nuclear remembrance event highlighted indigenous Marshallese heritage through traditional crafts, including dances by King Chapel Youths and songs by M.A.R.K Harmony, highlighting brand-new music from their upcoming album themed around the history and impact of nuclear testing.

Fishermen’s Day is a national holiday in the Republic of the Marshall Islands, honoring our fishermen, past, present, and future.

For centuries, our fishermen have been the frontline stewards of our seas. It is only imperative that we recognize their contribution to our collective prosperity, our cultural heritage, and our economic stability.

Today, the RMI Consulate Arkansas team bids a heartfelt farewell to Vice Consul Hilma Lemari, after five years of exemplary service to our mission. We are deeply grateful for your dedication, sharp professionalism, and invaluable contributions to advancing our bilateral relations over these past 5 years.

During your tenure, we navigated many unprecedented challenges— from a global pandemic, to severe staff shortage, to devastating tornadoes, ice storms, and the anxieties surrounding new immigration directives affecting our diaspora. Your unwavering commitment and leadership, particularly when you had to make do with a mere staff of 2, to fill critical operational gaps, will always be deeply remembered and appreciated.

Emma Avenue closed for 82nd Rodeo of the Ozark Parade.

The parade kicks of today at 10am from Parsons Stadium with the marching band starting from the RMI Consulate compound, heading west down Emma Avenue in Downtown Springdale.

Emma Avenue will be closed from Reinert Drive to Thompson Street. Due to congested traffic from marching band, floats, and hundreds of horses, closures and detours will be in effect along Huntsville Avenue and North Old Missouri Road to manage parade traffic.
